This young lady is so sweet and special to me, and her family has this new puppy (well, new in that the puppy is about a year old). I was allowed to play with any and all ideas I have had in my head for the past few years, and one was to photograph a child with a dog…loving on each other, hugging, something. I adore this “kiss” from her dog to her.

But then, in the close up portraits I see glimpses of the young adult she will be in the not too distant future. I see her sweetness, her spirit, and I’m reminded that I have known her since she was a baby. The times? They do fly by don’t they?

At the end, when we were both freezing in the wind blowing, and she was dressed like it was summer-time in January, she posed for me and I saw that image in my camera lens that said to me, “THIS is her!”
I had such a great time taking her portraits and “playing” with ideas. I ended up shooting way more than I probably should have, but with a subject who is so easy and listens, it was a lot of fun.
